Privacy

The info you add to Sprout helps us create the best recipes and meals for you. None of the data collected will be sold or used against you.

What We Collect

When you use Sprout, we collect the following information to provide and improve the app:

• Account information — your Apple ID identifier and, if you choose to share it, your email address or phone number.
• Profile information — your name and health & wellness goals.
• Recipe preferences — dietary preferences, excluded ingredients, and measurement system.
• Content you create — recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, and support reports. If customer publication controls become available and you intentionally create a recipe publication, we also store its published recipe snapshot.
• Subscription and purchase information — your Sprout subscription tier and related App Store purchase status.
• Product interaction data — app events such as onboarding screens viewed, feature milestones, app launches, taps, and similar usage information, including session replay data that may contain text visible or entered in the app when replay is enabled.
• Crash reports and diagnostics — technical information that helps us fix bugs, improve stability, and understand app performance.

How We Use It

We use your information to:

• Generate personalized recipes and meal plans.
• Save your preferences so the app works the way you want.
• Let you save and edit recipes. Recipe-publication sharing and imports are not currently available in the customer app.
• Create an Instacart shopping-list link when you choose to send unchecked grocery items to Instacart.
• Understand how people move through onboarding and use product features.
• Fix bugs and improve the app experience.

SMS Verification

If you choose phone-number sign-in, we use your phone number and SMS consent only to send transactional account sign-in and verification codes. We do not send marketing text messages.

We do not sell or share mobile phone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or SMS consent information with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.

Analytics and Service Providers

We use trusted service providers to run Sprout, including cloud hosting, Apple App Store services, diagnostics tools, SMS delivery providers, and Amplitude for product analytics. Amplitude helps us understand app and website usage, such as where visitors came from, App Store link clicks, and where people drop off during onboarding. We use this analytics data to improve Sprout, not for advertising or tracking across other companies' apps or websites.

Instacart Shopping Lists

When you choose Shop on Instacart, Sprout sends the names and quantities of unchecked items in your current grocery list to Instacart so it can create a hosted shopping-list link. Instacart handles retailer selection, product matching, cart changes, and checkout under its own Privacy Policy.

Sprout does not receive product prices, inventory, your Instacart identity, cart contents, checkout status, or order details through this feature. Nothing is marked as purchased in Sprout when you open the link.

Session Replay

For eligible app sessions, Amplitude may create a video-like replay from Sprout's on-screen interface so we can understand navigation, troubleshoot problems, and improve the experience. This is not a camera or device-screen recording and does not capture activity outside Sprout.

We configure replay without text masking. Content rendered inside Sprout—including interface copy, text entered into fields, account and subscription screens, health and preference selections, recipe content, and photos or videos shown in the app—may appear in a replay.

Session replay is used for product improvement and diagnostics, not advertising or cross-app tracking. If you have a question or privacy request involving analytics data, contact us through the Support page below.

What We Don't Do

• We do not sell your data to third parties.
• We do not use your data for advertising.
• We do not share your personal information with data brokers.

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely on cloud servers. Authentication is handled through Sign in with Apple, and your credentials are never stored by Sprout directly.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app. When you delete your account, we remove or de-identify your profile, preferences, saved recipe ownership, meal plans, grocery lists, reviews, and reports. Any recipe publications associated with your account are also revoked; the customer app does not currently provide controls to create them.

Health Disclaimer

Sprout provides general wellness information. A professional doctor or nutritionist should always be consulted before making any major health or dietary decisions.

Changes to This Policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we will notify you through the app. Your continued use of Sprout after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
